The Warlock Patrol Group has convinced the ruling clan of the M'Khar-shok system of the Confederation's innocence regarding a recent piratical incursion using Confederation War-era fighter craft. Having been assaulted by the false ConFed craft themselves, the patrol group has allied with the Clan M'khar'khur, escorting one of its outer planet corvettes to the M'Khar'khur capital world of the system.
Upon arrival, the TCS Warlock offloaded several crates of medical supplies and munitions to the M'Khar'khur orbital base, and the cagey Spaceman Gideon Frost, assigned to the delivery, was able to offload the contraband he recovered from the destroyed Confederation Comm Relay in the M'Khar-shok system to a contact in exchange for equally prized items: alcohol, money, and fresh meat with which he has already begun to grease palms aboard the TCS Warlock.
In a more disappointing light, Ensign Rostov, after nearly 12 hours of effort has made little progress in back tracking the ConFed heavy fighter used to destroy the local Comm Relay. It seems some 10 years ago, someone wanted something covered up, but what he has yet to determine.
Shortly after arriving, a meeting between Captain Herrikel and the Clan Elders was set. Several Marines and Pilots formed the escort for the Captain, the CAG, and the diplomatic and science attaches. As the data was reviewed, a disconcerting bit of information (not that the entire series of events in the system isn't disconcerting - what with crude AI controlled ConFed fighters wreaking havoc), visual sensor data assumed by the Warlock's science crew to be a ring around the small first planet of the system was not - the Kilrathi, while not exploiting that planet due to its lack of atmosphere have the old Imperial Survey Data, the first planet, P'rahk, has a moon, but no ring system. Further study of the sensor images suggest orbital facilities of some type, with at least 4 larger manufactured satellites also in orbit. There exact design or purpose, unknown due to the crude resolution. The Kilrathi need to know what has happened to their mining colony on the second planet and suggest a ruse convoy to draw out the enemy and follow them to one of their known, but stealth shielded, mobile docks. Dolphin and Blackjack suggest a recon mission prior to that using the Excaliburs in DarkWolf Squadron's compliment to reach the two inner planets and discover not only the status of the colony, but also what is orbiting P'rahk. The Kilrathi and ConFed Commanders agree to the plans. Dolphin and Blackjack, since they came up with the plan, are assigned temporarily to some Excaliburs. They will fly into enemy space and discover the truth.
